AAKASH MEHTA - JOKES, FEEELINGS & STORIES, 2018

It is incongruous to think that more often than not, the people who tell jokes for a living aren’t the happiest people offstage. The film delves into the life of a man who suffers from social anxiety and clinical depression and yet finds the most peace and comfort in front of blinding lights and hundreds of people in his audience. A comic’s life is the primary inspiration for their work, and this film looks at how important milestones in Mehta’s life have inspired several of his most poignant jokes and sets.

About

Endlessly fascinated by the idea of how unique yet universal our experiences are, I am drawn to everything that makes me build relationships with people and understand why they think or feel the way they do. From documentary filmmaking, editing and theatre to psychology, professional cuddling, or intimacy coaching and coordination, I hope to be able to explore whatever sparks my interest or curiosity
